Why are books not black with white writing?

Question

Why are books not black with white writing?
just wondering.

Answer

What a damned good question! brbrYouve had alot of aggressive answers but there is no reason why it shouldnt be black background and white writing. Theres no reason why white ink should be more expensive to produce than black and why black or dark coloured paper should be any more difficult to produce.brbrThere also seems little reason to believe the resultant writing would be any harder to read. Early PCs displays were white text on black and were fine as you can see if you go to edit a DOS programme. In fact, black text on white background can actually be particularly hard to read for some some forms of dyslexia can be helped by viewing the text through coloured filters.brbrIgnore the herds vilification. Damned fine question !
